Terms of Use

Last updated 13 October 2026

1. Information, not professional advice

Content on this site, including sizes, framing comparisons, and snow and wind figures, is general information. The steel building system is designed on drawings stamped by an Alberta-registered professional engineer (P.Eng.) retained by the building manufacturer, for your exact site; the foundation and any other design work are designed and stamped separately. Nothing on this site is a professional opinion on your project, and code values shown are for the named code station, not your parcel.

2. Quotes

A quote is an estimate based on the information you gave us. It becomes binding only as a written contract signed by both parties. Prices, steel availability and lead times can change until then.

3. Permits

Development and building permits are issued by your municipality. We describe the usual process for each municipality to help you plan, but the municipality decides what applies to your parcel, and requirements change.

4. Partner builders and links

We build projects ourselves where we can. If we pass your project to a partner builder with your consent, that supplier or erector is an independent business. Any contract you sign with it is between you and that business, and we are not responsible for its work, pricing or warranties. Links to other sites, including municipal permit pages, are provided for convenience; we do not control their content.

5. Images

Images on this site are illustrations of building types, not photographs of specific completed projects.

6. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from reliance on general information on this site. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under Alberta's Consumer Protection Act.

7. Intellectual property

Site content and design belong to Chinook Metal Buildings. You may share links and short quotations with attribution.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Disputes go to the courts of Alberta, sitting in Calgary.
